Who we areThe Observatory on Italian Foreign Policy, promoted and hosted by the Master in International Relations (http://didattica.spbo.unibo.it/masters/mri/), which is jointly organized by the Department of Politics, Institutions, History of the University of Bologna, and the Diplomatic Institute of the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs , aims to provide world-wide scholars and observers with information and comments on Italian foreign policy at large. The Observatory is organized in three sections: • The News section provides a comprehensive collection of articles regarding Italian foreign policy collated from selected national and international newspapers. The focus is on events or crises where Italy may be seen in a global role . This section is daily updated. • The Resources section divides into seven areas: Bibliography The bibliography is organized by geographical and thematic criteria, providing an overall picture of Italian foreign policy since 2000. Database & Analysis An archive of selected documents covering recent researches and publications relating to Italian foreign policy. Press and media This area contains long range comments and analysis on Italian and European foreign policy from the most important national and international newspapers, reviews and research centers. The section is updated weekly. Unpublished theses This area collects abstracts of former four-year degree and PhD theses on Italian foreign policy. Working papers A record of working papers relating to the international role of Italy in the post 9/11 scenario. The papers come from research centers, reviews, international conferences, workshops, seminars and governmental or private institutions across the world. This section is updated every week. Seminars and conferences This area focuses on national and international conferences dealing with issues related to Italian foreign policy. It is intended to shed light on topics, authors and institutions involved in studies concerning Italy and world affairs. Primary sources and documents One of the Observatory’s goals is to collect a broad and comprehensive set of primary sources for scholars and observers throughout the world. All such documents strictly relate to Italian foreign policy. Official declarations, parliamentary reports, governmental intervention in international organizations form the basic content.
